Pillage: The End!

The ruined city of Kingsplot!
After all this time, it finally comes to an end. The dragons were fully grown, and the gang went to go get rid of them, seeing how their only purpose in life is to pillage, and they didn't want to see Kingsplot destroyed. Beck has been reading The Grim Knot which is a history and guidebook on how to raise dragons. When Beck tries to destroy the dragons once and for all, a turn for the weird happens, but before I say, there is some background you must know. At the end of every chapter in the book, you read a section of The Grim Knot, and it tell the story of Becks ancestors. In the book, you hear a lot of a peddler who has cursed the family, and keeps coming back because the curse keeps backfiring. Back to the story, Beck believes that Kate was trying to raise the dragons so she could have all the wealth, but it was all one other person. Milo. He was the peddler that you keep hearing in the experts of  The Grim Knot. He was the one that led Beck to find everything that was suppose to stay hidden. That's why no one liked Milo, and that's also why Beck had to follow so many rules. So Milo let's loose the dragons to go pillage when another odd thing happens. AERON LEAVES THE DOME!! Not only does he leave the dome, but he even comes to save Beck and helps destroy the dragons. After a long fight around the town with all but one dragon, Beck tires to go rescue Kate, who is stuck in the cage under the conservatory. She was tricked by Milo, who took the shape of Beck and locked her in the cage. After she is freed, "Aeron" comes to destroy the last dragon, but it turns out it was Milo in Aerons form and was killed by the dragon. After THAT, things become more normal for Beck. Aeron becomes more like a father, He and Kate (if you didn't already know) are in a relationship, and he has a feeling like he is at home. I'm glad you could follow this blog and I hope you read Pillage by Obert Skye.

Pillage: The dragons are older

This was what I thought of the dragons after they had grown.
A few weeks after the dragons are born, they have already become very large. Most of them are very unique, both in appearance and personality. They all were fed by the weeds that were grown in the conservatory. Kate has given each dragon a name that rather matches their personality or appearance. They seems to be doing fine, until the dragons get almost too big to stay in the conservatory. Beck takes heed of this and finally starts reading that book he found. Before he can, he is caught by Millie, Wane, and Thomas. He is sent to be locked up in his room until further notice. Beck takes head of this to start reading to book and finds out that his uncle was a part of this book. He wants to go talk to Aeron, but he is locked in his room. When he tires to use his powers to make the bushes grow, the plants do nothing. Beck doesn't let this get him down and he starts to climb the house. He finally gets to Aeron and asks him about the book. Aeron says that everything that has happened to Beck was for a good reason, and that he should read the book closer. I'm starting to believe now that Beck has told his uncle about the book, and that he has dragons that Aeron will finally leave the rooftop and  actually help out with the situation. We will just have to see though.

Pillage: Those strange plants...

This is how I pictured how the dragons looked like
Kingsplot just had the biggest snow most people have ever seen, so Beck and his friends have been a long time away from the conservatory and the basement. Before it started to snow, Beck, Kate, and Milo were in the conservatory checking out the plants and the rocks. Beck used his power to make some weeds take the stones into the ground. It then started to rain pretty hard, but they couldn't get out. Lightning strikes the shack they were in, and they think it is the end of them, but Beck finds a way into a pitch black waterway. After many minuets of just wandering in pitch darkness with water up to their waist in water, they finally find a way into the basement of the house. Then they discuss that maybe the book that Beck found in the basement might be helpful to them, and suggested that he read it. Beck doesn't believes them until they finally go back to the conservatory after all the snow fall is gone. After the climb up and over the wall, they see the "plants" have turned into pods and are now floating. The stones are no where to be seen. On the top of every pod, there is a small hole. Beck sticks his hand down one and feels this warm air on him. He pulls out his arm and finds some strange goo on his arm. After a panic with the goo on Beck's arm that wouldn't come off, the pods started to move and shake. Milo is already gone by now, and Kate is only halfway up the wall. Kate sees that Beck wants to stick around to see what the pods are going to do, so she joins him. It turns out that Beck was right in the first place, and after a long process, we see eight small dragons pop out of the pods. Neither one can believe what they are seeing, but decide to start holding them.

Pillage: Unlce Aeron! part two

This is roughly what I thought the mansions looked like. Key word roughly.
Just like last time, Aeron calls down for someone to talk to, and guess who he wants? You guessed it, Beck. So Wane takes Beck up to the dome, where Beck starts to look around the dome more, and notices how Aeron survives up there. Let me tell you right now, not pretty. The conversation was pretty much the same as last time, but Aeron starts to open up more. He talks a lot of Beck's mother, Francine. Both of the guys loved her to no extent, and both grieved for her death. It was a touching, yet creepy moment. I didn't know if i should feel sorry for them, or scared of them. They both said in their own words that their life is miserable. That's right, you get to hear an old hermit who thinks he is in middle earth and a sixteen year old orphan complain how their life is not good. Aeron I can understand, but Beck was taking his a bit to far. Most of the conversation was rather complaining about their life, or missing Francine. The rest was just awkward silences, and they were awkward. In the end, Aeron tells Beck the same thing last time: stay out of the garden and the basement that doesn't exist.

Pillage: Unlce Aeron! part one

This is roughly how a pictured Aeron. Only thinner, in a dome, and with a staff.
It finally happens! We finally meet the old coot known as Uncle Aeron!! Wouldn't you believe me when I say he is a rather odd ball person. Like earlier in the book, it is mentioned that Aeron has never left the dome on the seventh floor of his house. When Beck was asked to go see Aeron, everyone was dead serious and no questions were asked. Not one single question. Even Beck seems to know what's happening. The first time Beck meets his uncle, Aeron asks if Beck has met the staff. Beck says that the four of them are really nice, but Aeron still believes that there are hundreds of servants and cooks in the house. Also, Aeron is constantly looking up in the sky as if something or someone was about to swoop down and eat him. He also goes on asking Beck about school and how his teachers are jerks to him. Beck supports him on school and seems to go along with everything. He doesn't mention any of his friends or enemies, but just how his teachers are just as mean to him as they are to Aeron. Beck, foolishly enough, does mention the basement that he was not suppose to find, and Aeron explodes about that. He later tells him to stay out of the garden and the basement that doesn't exist. Then, like that entire situation never happened, Beck just goes back to snooping.

Pillage: What's behind the wall...

This is how I imagined the dragon eggs, but covered in ivy
After a long climb up the conservatory with the help of Beck's mysterious plant power, he and Kate finally get to the top, but can't see a thing. They sit there and rest for a while and talk about what could be down there. They discussed it could be filled with thing's about Beck's uncle and mother. The two also thought it was just dirt and weeds at the bottom. They still go down to find out. Once they reach the bottom, they find odd shaped plants. they were in the shapes of ovals, almost egg shaped. They also find a strange shack that is filled with odd stones that weigh a ton. Beck believes they are dragon eggs, but Kate shuts the idea down quickly. Beck then talks Kate into believing they just might be dragon eggs, seeing how Beck researched them before, and now that he had this odd power now, anything just might be real. So after they go back to get out of the conservatory, Kate finds that the floor is rather unusual. After stomping out the dirt floor, they discover that the floor was actually the top of a cage! Could this cage have to do something with the plants that just might be dragons? Are these strange stones and plants related? They just might be. Could these strange objects be the reason Beck's uncle is so crazy? I think it is, but we will have to see.

Pillage: Home

This is what the wall looked like (only all the way around in a rectangle) when Beck uses his new plant growing gift
While things at school are bad, what Beck finds out about his new home aren't to different either. Like usual the staff is very nice to him, but they really enforce the rules they have. One time Beck tried to go explore into the back yard, but he was caught by the grounds keeper, and Millie wasn't very happy with Beck for disobeying them. The first time Beck goes into the back yard, he doesn't find very much. Later, he and Milo (his friend) go search farther out and discovered a giant wall in the woods titled "Conservatory." There is no main entrance, but something very surprising happens later, but there is another issue to deal with. Beck is awake one night and sees a strange light that keeps moving backwards, so he decides to go investigate. He finds that the light is behind a locked door, so he stops there, BUT he finds  a strange hole in the wall, and relizes that it leads to a basement that he has heard rumors of. Earlier in the story, Beck is told that there was a basement in the house, but it was buried in due to the fact that his uncle Aarreon is crazy. Beck still looks for it for awhile, and then he comes across it when he finds the hole in the wall. He then goes to his friends Milo and Kate to tell them what he found. Then later that night, all three of them go into the basement to see what they can find. While searching for something, they come across a strange book in the basement and decide to take it. Right about now in the stroy, the gang is back at the conservatory and Beck finds out that the strange plant attacks that have been going around his school is all because of him. He looks over to the conservatory wall and just says "grow," and like that, the ivy around it begins to grow. They use this to their advantage to climb over the wall and find out what is inside, and that is where I leave you 'till next time. What could behind that wall? Could it be why Beck can make plants grow?

Pillageblog: School

The salad literally jumped out of the bowl and on to the bullies
The strangest thing happened to Beck only on his third day of school! He was just trying to survive the day and eat his lunch with his friends when the bullies from the first day come back for more fun. So Beck tries to defend himself by throwing back some smart words at Wyatt (the bully). That isn't the strange part. Then, all the salads just come to life and start attacking the bullies! Everyone is in mass panic and is running all over the place, and yet the killer salads are only attacking the bullies. That still isn't the strange part. The strange part is that NONE OF THE TEACHERS BOTHERED WITH THIS!!! They just acted like it was a normal day at school, and to be fair, some did notice it, but they just acted like it was a fire drill. Not leaves and carrots coming to life to beat down on a bully. One more thing I would like to bring up, everyone was afraid that the salads were going to kill them, but they only went for the bullies. That's so weird. Seriously, did no one other than Beck and his friends notice that only the bullies were being assaulted by dead plants. Beck wonders if this is normal in Kingsplot, but I think that he is the one causing all this mass chaos with plants running rampant. When Beck asks his friends if this is normal for Kingsplot, neither of them know because they have only been there for a short while themselves. I think this is some sort of power that Beck possesses, and will later use it to find out why his uncle is always in that glass dome of his.

Pillage chpts 5-8

This shows the bullies picking on Milo and Beck
I just read the next 3 chapters of Pillage, and so far it's still very good. Beck found the house unsettling but he somehow survived the night. He woke up, and searched the house, and yet all the upper floors were locked. He didn't mess too much with those because he had to get ready for school. There was an odd incident when he was brushing his teeth because there was tooth powder instead of tooth paste. When he did finally go to school, he met up with the other characters that he met. By the way, when Beck was searching the house, he meets up with a neighbor that always hangs out in Arreon (Beck's uncle) back yard. His name is Milo, and he isn't the most charming kid, but he knows how to get around Kingsplot. So Beck meets back up with Kate and Milo on the bus ride to his school. When he finally gets to school, Beck doesn't realize that there is a dress code, and Beck doesn't have the proper clothing, so he is humiliated of course. After his first class, Beck and Milo run into the bullies of the school, which will only be one group of antagonists. After a few clever words with the bullies, the ivy around the school seems to stretch out and take the bullies away, and this is no normal thing in Kingsplot. What could this mysterious bully snatching plant be? Could it be tied to why Arreon is always locked up in the top floor? I bet there is some connection to Beck and his family to this mysterious power or being.

Pillage Chapter's 1-4

This show's the reaction of the student's to the bees being dropped
I just read the first four chapter's of Pillage by Obert Skye, and I'm already impressed. The story starts off with the main character, Beck, trying to pull a prank by dropping a bag of angry bees into his school, but he gets stuck in the air vent's. So while he's stuck, he gets abandoned by the one person he knew at that school. By the way, Beck and his mother have always been on the move, so he has been at that school for only a month and no one knows him. Anyways, Beck is stuck in the air vents and is thrashing and trying to find a way out, but he doesn't realize he has let go of the bag of bees. By now, he is dead silent and still with a billion bees crawling all over him, and the heat is turned on, so he is about to have a heat stroke. Beck can no longer take all the bees on him and being stuck in the dark, hot vents, so he loses it. He finally breaks down the vent into a home-ec class with the bees all over the place. Every one goes screaming by the sight of a cut up and stung Beck, but the principal ignores everything when he tells Beck that his mother has died. The funeral is short, but it has the biggest effect on Beck. In the story, you don't hear much about Beck's mother, but she was the one person he could always go to. After the funeral, Beck's family lawyer tells him that Beck has to go live with his rich uncle that is up in the mountains. Beck is unhappy about this, but he has no choice. Once he gets to the train station, Beck finds a girl he tries to make friends with called Kate. Kate isn't all that nice to Beck, but that doesn't stop him from being his charming self. The train ride itself isn't all that much, but once Beck gets to Kingsplot, the town his uncle lives in, that's when things get a little odd. First off, the place is always foggy, so you can never see far ahead. Secondly, no one except the people taking care of him is at all nice. When Beck finally reaches his new home, he is astounded. His uncle owns the biggest house in Kingsplot. The staff of the house is all very excited to see Beck, but are confused when they hear they actually have to work to take care of him. Beck does find it all that this town is not very modern except for the cars and buses, and that the fact that his house has no furniture. Lastly, the strangest thing is that Beck's uncle lives on the seventh floor of his mansion and no one ever bothers him, and Beck seems most annoyed when Wane, his lovely care taker, keeps staining the fact to keep locked doors locked, and how people get lost in the back yard so easily. I predict that Beck will try and explore some of these locked doors and venture out into the back yard, just to see what's out there. I hope you keep following my blog.
